FAQ
-
What should I expect for a body contouring treatment? The treatment starts with before photos and circumference measurements of the target body area to track your results. After deciding what your end results are, a custom treatment plan will be made for you. The treatment plan will include laser lipo, ultrasonic cavitation, radio frequency and/or vacuum therapy. Each part will be performed for 15-20 minutes depending on desired results and session length (60 or 90 minutes). Results can be noticed immediately after the first session with more improvement within a few days. 6-10 sessions at 3 days are recommended in order to achieve an ideal result, but further treatments may be needed to attain your desired figure.
-
How does it feel during the ultrasonic or rf treatment? Most find the treatment is painless and comfortable. During the ultrasonic cavitation there is a slight buzzing noise in your ear during the treatment but causes no harm and disappears as soon as the applicator is removed from the body. During the radio frequency you will experience warmth during, if on a slim chance it’s too warm you can request more gel or a lower setting until you feel more comfortable with the feeling.
-
What is each treatment and what can be treated?LASER LIPO: Uses laser energy, safely and painlessly,at a very precise wavelength to stimulate the natural release of excess fat in the body, without destroying or structurally altering adipose tissue and other nearby organs. Can be used to target areas like the abdomen, legs, thighs, waist, hips, arms, neck and face. LIPO ULTRASONIC CAVITATION: Uses low-frequency sound waves to burst fat cells. This transforms their contents into free fatty acids that are naturally disposed of by the lymphatic system. Can be used on the stomach, back, arms and thighs. RADIO FREQUENCY: Uses currents similar to the ones found naturally in our body’s electrical circuits to cause tissues to contract, which in turn safely tighten skin and increase its contour by increasing collagen. Can be used on anywhere on the body and face any area to improve skin tightness and elasticity, reduce wrinkles and cellulite, reduce appearance of stretch marks. Can be used on both face and body VACUUM THERAPY: Used negative pressure to Any area to help improve blood circulation, reduce cellulite and lymphatic drain.
-
What is the difference between laser lipo and lipo ultrasonic cavitation? Both treatments are spot reduction of fat. Neither treatment is “better” or “worse” than the other – they are just different. Laser Lipo: This is a hands-free treatment meaning you are set up by your technician and then left to relax with the paddles strapped to your body. This pain-free laser generates heat and causes metabolism of fatty acids contained within the fat cells in the treatment area. Lipo Ultrasonic Cavitation: Cavitation treatments are actively administered by our trained technician meaning they will be with you during the treatment. This gives them more control to target the chosen area.
-
Is it painful? It is a painless treatment. Mild redness may appear during and shortly after but will be highly unlikely to cause any pain. Heat during radio frequency Slight pinching during vacuum therapy
-
Is it safe? This is a safe, nonsurgical procedure without anesthesia. It is non-invasion, no cutting, no scars and no downtime. Due to specific ultrasound parameters of energy levels ensure selective damage to fat cells only and do not interfere with any other organs. There is no report of side effects for these treatments. Some people may experience slight redness, excessive thirst and nausea immediately after the treatment. This is due to the body removing all bad toxins. It’s important to drink a lot of water before and after treatment.
-
What can one expect with the results? The combination of treatments yields immediate and long lasting results. Most clients experience noticeable circumference reduction after a single session with increasing results after ever visit. Requires 6-10 treatments – 3 days apart. The results may vary with different tissue structure, treatment area, age metabolism, medications and changes in hormones. Proper diet and increased physical activity will certainly improve and help to maintain the results.
-
Which areas are suitable for treatment?Areas with localized fat such as thighs, abdomen, arms and buttocks where diet and exercise alone have not been able to get rid of the most appropriate but there is no real limitation as to area of the body. RADIO FREQUENCY: can be used on face and body.
-
Can I lose weight? This is not a method to lose weight but to reshape the body. Ultrasonic cavitation can be considered a deep fat blaster that reduces stubborn fat cells that cannot be removed with exercise and diet alone.
-
What is vacuum therapy?Vacuum-therapy stimulates muscles, breaks down cellulite and fatty deposits, eliminating toxins, improving lymphatic drainage and taking inches off. Vacuum therapy also helps restore the skin’s natural elasticity to smooth the appearance of facial wrinkles and “orange-peel” dimpling in the thighs and buttocks. This therapy is painless, safe and highly effective. Vacuum-therapy, thru the combination of it’s different action mechanisms, as well as stimulating the blood, performs lymphatic drainage, which means a direct stimulation to the fibroblast, cells that aid in collagen and elastin fibre production , improving the texture and tone of the treated zone.
-
How does this help my booty grow? Our devices use negative pressure within the cup for local continuous opening and closing to promote skin respiration, increasing its oxygen intake which strengthens buttock tissue to stimulate growth.
-
Do I need to work out?We do suggest some glute focused exercises 4-6 hours after treatment. These can be done at home with body weight or with retention bands.
-
How many sessions are needed?4-12 sessions are suggested but it depends on what your personal goals are! Treatments can be done twice a week or 3 days apart.
-
Can I return to normal activites after the treatment? The Brazilian Butt Lift treatment is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Some experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, numbness or discomfort in the treated area, but this is temporary and will resolve completely.
-
Are there any side effects?Depending on the person, you may have some redness and slight bruising *up to 4 hours. Besides that you will feel like you just had a good work out.
-
What are the benefits to this treatment?Raises, enlarges, reaffirms the glutes without surgeries Increases the skin flexibility Releases the lymphatic flow Exfoliates the epidermis making skin softer Stimulates dermis & hypodermis Lifts, tighten and tones your booty Decreases muscle tension
-
Are infrared saunas safe to use?Yes! Far infrared heat is a form of radiant energy. The sun is an example of the principal source of infrared radiant energy that we experience on a daily basis. All human bodies absorb, as well as emit, infrared radiant energy. Infrared Sauna heat emitters produce a specific bandwidth of radiant energy that matches the vibrational frequency of the human body. This process is also known as resonant absorption. No harmful UV rays are emitted.
-
Will the infrared therapy help me lose weight?Research has shown that a 30-minute session in an Infrared sauna can help a person to burn between 500-800 calories. Most of the weight that is lost directly in the sauna is water weight, which needs to be replenished with freshwater, but the calories that are burned will not be replenished with water and serve to increase a body’s metabolism. This increase in metabolism has many effects that help weight loss including increasing digestion function which efficiently converts the food you eat into energy.
-
Does the infrared therapy have any effect on pain? There is evidence where people who have used infrared therapy say that their pain is significantly reduced or even eliminated. However, a lot of the research on this subject is focused on inflammation and arthritis. We do know that when muscle diners are heated, inflammation is reduced and the joint and muscle pain is reduces.
-
What is the difference between infrared sauna therapy and traditional saunas?Unlike traditional hot rock based saunas that operate at well in excess of 200°F, infrared heat has the benefit of being effective at a much more comfortable temperature.. Traditional saunas focus on heating the air as opposed to the body directly. This can make the experience uncomfortably hot and make breathing difficult rather than a pleasant detoxification and relaxation environment. Since infrared heat penetrates human tissue as opposed to simply heating the surface of the skin, infrared saunas are about seven times more effective than traditional saunas at detoxifying the body. By raising the body’s core temperature, infrared saunas can typically generate a sweat composed of 20% toxins vs. only 3% toxins in a traditional sauna. This equates to reduce inflammation in joints, helping to regenerate damaged tissues, increasing your metabolism. The increased core temperature also helps the immune system by weakening and killing bacteria and viruses that are all susceptible to heat.
-
How long is each session?A typically recommended session will be about 30-45 minutes in duration. However, several factors will influence how long to stay in an infrared sauna with the most important factor being how your body is reacting. You should always listen to your body and you do not want to overdo it by staying in the sauna for too long. If you’re a newcomer to infrared saunas, you will be starting at a lower temperature and gradually increase the temperature at following sessions.
-
What do I wear in the sauna? You will be given a pair of sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt to wear during your treatment. It’s important to remove any personal clothing that you don’t want to get sweat on. We do recommend removing jewelry and glasses but they will not be harmed if you decide to leave them on.
-
Do I have to drink water before using the infrared sauna?Staying hydrated is very important during all body treatments especially during infrared therapy. We highly recommend being well hydrated prior to your session. As your body heat increases and the body begins to sweat, the loss of water can change the electrolyte concentration and can have harmful effects if you are not replacing it with fresh water. Furthermore, as the toxins are released through the sweat, they are, to a lesser extent, released in the body and hydrating helps the body flush them out. As a result, we recommend hydrating well before, during and after your infrared therapy session.
-
How does the infrared saunca detoxify the body? When the infrared light penetrates the body and converts to heat, this heat can melt the fats holding the toxins and also activate detoxification mechanisms which thn purge the toxins through the skin. Many of the toxins include mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde, sulphuric acid, and more.
-
Who shouldn't use the infrared therapy? We always suggest contacting your physician before using any infrared therapy if you are unsure if it’s a fit for you. Some conditions may be adversely affected by the use of an Infrared sauna. If you have any of the following conditions: Adrenal suppression, SLE (Systemic lupus Erythematosus), Multiple Sclerosis, Hyperthyroidism, Hemophilia, acute joint injuries, enclosed infections (dental, joints, tissue), artificial joints, metal pins, or any other implants, or during menstrual cycle. If at any point during your session in the Infrared Sauna you stop sweating, your skin becomes clammy, you feel weak, tired or nauseous, and end the treatment immediately.
-
What is EMS Therapy and how does it work? The process of causing muscle contraction using an external electrical charge or pulse usually created by an ems machine or device. The electrodes are placed on the skin over the muscle that you want to exercise. An electrical charge is sent into the muscle charging the muscle’s fibers and causing a muscle contraction. This is the same action muscles experience during exercise and motion. THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM TENS.
-
What is the difference between EMS and TENS?EMS: causes the muscles to contract, by mimicking the action potential that comes from the central nervous system. TENS: the function of a tens unit is to help stimulate the sensory nerve endings, the rationale being that the stimulation keeps pain signals from reaching the brain.
-
Is it painful? It feels like an intensive workout, as your muscles are undergoing a vigorous series of contractions every few minutes for a total of 30 minutes. There is also a prickling sensation during the treatment. The treatment is started at a low intensity and will slowly be turned to a slightly higher intensity during treatment when you get familiar with the feeling. Each treatment will be a little more intense to help build muscles and get amazing results.
-
What can one expect with results? After your first session you will see results as if you just gone done a workout and you will maximum results in 2 to 4 weeks. Visible results continue to improve for weeks to months after treatment series.
-
How many treatments are needed?Between 4-12 sessions for maximum results. This is different for each person depending on initial start and desired results. One session will increase muscle up to 16% and reduce fat by 19% in the area that is treated. Many are happy just after one single session.
-
Can this be used to lose weight?EMS does help burn fat and build muscle. EMS used along with Infrared Therapy to burn additional calories.
-
How long do lash lifts last?4-8 weeks. Everyone’s lash regrowth cycle is a little different. We recommend rebooking 4-5 weeks apart to keep up.
-
Should I book a lash lift and tint? Many lashes are actually a little longer than they look since the tips appear lighter than the rest of the lash. A tint picks up any lighter strands and darkens them, bringing out the length in your lashes to maximize the effectiveness of a lash lift. If you’re wanting to make a bigger impact, a tint is definitely the way to go!
-
Does a lash lift and tint make a dramatic difference to your eyelashes? The success of a lash lift depends on the health and length of your natural eyelashes since the lash stylist will only be working with your natural lashes. If your natural lashes are long and straight then the lash lift will produce a more dramatic effect. If your natural lashes are on the shorter side, your lash stylist can still work with them to create a gorgeous natural look. If you’re looking for a more voluminous look, we’d recommend checking out our wide range of lash extensions.
-
Can I get a lash lift then book for lash extensions if I want something more dramatic? We recommend waiting 4+ weeks after getting a lash lift to get lash extensions. When getting a lash lift we are creating an angle at the lash root to curl them, unfortunately the lash extensions isn’t able to properly attach to the natural lash.
-
Can I have a lash lift when I'm pregnant? As per the manufacturer guidelines, we suggest not during the first trimester. Lash lifting is a very low-risk procedure, though it has not been tested thoroughly during the first trimester of pregnancy. Beyond 13 weeks, lash lifting is absolutely fine! The solution has been tested and proven to be fine during pregnancy.
-
Can I wear contact lenses when I'm having my lashes lifted and/or tinted? We recommend taking them out first, it will be much more comfortable.

-
Is laser hair removal safe?Yes, the procedure is safe when performed by skilled professionals and with the proper equipment. The laser emits light energy that specifically targets the hair follicle. It eliminates the hair while the surrounding skin remains unharmed.
-
Does laser hair removal work for everyone? The best results for laser hair removal involves hair with pigment. Light blond or grey hair are difficult to treat. This is because the laser targets the pigment in the hair follicle. If your hair is lighter, it will be more difficult for the laser to detect the pigment and effectively disable the hair follicle.
-
Do you do laser removal on men?Yes, we do! We offer any of our services on men.
-
What areas can be treated with laser hair removal?Any area of the body with hair can be treated. The most popular areas that clients seek treatments for are the legs, bikini/brazilian, under-arms, back and face.
-
Will laser hair removal help with my ingrown hairs?Yes! Since laser weakens and destroys the hair follicle and softens the skin, this means no more annoying ingrown hairs.
-
Does laser hair removal hurt? The most common sensation felt during the procedure is a small pinch, like a rubber band is being snapped against your skin. The feeling only lasts a few seconds and generally stops when the laser does. Our handle has a top of the line cooling tip to help minimize discomfort.
-
Is laser hair removal permanent?Lasers will permanently reduce the amount of hair growth. Some areas of the body will experience permanent removal of hair while other areas may need some maintenance from time to time. After each visit, hair growth will be further reduced and you will require fewer sessions.
-
How long does one session take? The length of the session depends on the size of the area to be treated. Smaller areas can take 5-10 minutes while larger areas such as legs could take 60 minutes.
-
How many treatments will I require? The number of treatments varies from person to person but usually 6-10 treatments are required. They are spaced 6 weeks apart to effectively reduce hair growth.
-
Will I need to get 6+ sessions? Our hair grows in different stages and at all different times. Multiple treatments are needed to target the hair follicles during their growth phase.
-
How should I prepare for laser hair removal? The day of your appointment all you need to do is shave. 4 week prior you need to stop all waxing and plucking in the treated area. 1-2 week prior avoid tanning all together but especially on the treated area. No self tanner on the area being treated.
-
When will I see the results after having laser hair removal? You will notice a 10% to 25% reduction in hair just after your first treatment. Your hair will grow back finer, weaker and the skin will become smoother. Results will become more noticeable and impressive with each additional treatment until all follicles are destroyed. It’s important to continue with at least 6 sessions to ensure the results are long lasting.
-
Does laser hair removal save me money?Laser hair removal does save you money, time and pain. An article by Harper’s Bazaar compares the cost of 3 sessions of hair removal to 35 years of continuous waxing.
-
Are there side effects to laser hair removal? The side effects are minimal. This is one of the primary benefits of laser hair removal. Some people with sensitive skin may experience temporary redness, itching, and swelling of the skin right after treatment. These side effects usually go away within a few hours and most can be soothed by applying aloe vera to the treated area.
-
Will it run or cause my natural lashes to fall out?NO! When applied correctly, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural lashes. To ensure the long-term health of your lashes, we highly recommend that you take the advice of your lash stylist regarding the maximum thickness and length that your lashes can safely hold. Your natural lashes will continue to grow through a normal lash cycle and will fall out when your natural lash cycle is ready; a new natural lash will be waiting to replace it. DO NOT try to remove your lash extensions at home; this could easily cause damage to your natural lashes. Contact your lash stylist for a removal.
-
But my friend said her lashes were damaged after getting lash extensions? We can not speak for other lash stylists, but here at OASIS Beauty Bar, we aim to give your beautiful lash extensions while not causing damage to your natural lashes. Your lash stylist will go over proper aftercare and customize your lash set to ensure that your natural lashes do not get damaged. If you are still concerned, and are a little lash-obsessed (don’t worry, we are too!), we’d recommend using a growth formula that helps strengthen and condition your natural lashes. We stock EYENVY which is a terrific, highly effective lash growth serum that is salon-exclusive and totally compatible with lash extensions.
-
Is getting lash extensions painful? No, the lash extensions application should be pain-free. If properly applied, you will have no pain during or after your appointment. People with sensitive eyes or sinus problems may get some watering and slight stinging at the end, but this normally subsides within seconds-ask us to fan your lashes longer! We do use a low-fume lash adhesive but if you open your eyes or don’t fully close them during the application, you may feel a slight stinging. It is very important to keep eyes fully closed while the lash extension application is going on.
-
Will lash extensions irritate my eyes? No, once your lash extensions are applied, they should feel like your normal lashes. The extension is only bonded to your actual lash not your eyelid/skin. Avoid rubbing your eyes roughly; this may cause the extensions to twist and cause pain.
-
Can I wear contact lenses when getting lash extensions? We recommend taking them out first, it will be much more comfortable.
-
I have lash extensions on from somewhere else. Can I get a fill done by you?Our foreign lash fills are set $10 cheaper than a full set. At your first appointment with us, your lash stylist will have to go over what style and look you are looking for or what you’ve been getting, all old lash extensions that are grown out or need to be removed and new extensions will be applied. Every lash stylist uses different products and has a different style, which is hard for other Lash Stylists to do. We recommend if you are coming from a different salon to just book our full set with a removal of the old extensions and start fresh!
-
I have booked to get lash extensions. Is there anything I need to do before?Avoid any waterproof mascara and oil or petroleum based products on or around the eye area 48 hours prior (such as Vaseline or moisturizers). The day of your appointment arrive with no makeup – especially mascara. We have a makeup station where you can apply makeup after your lash appointment.
-
Can I get my lashes wet?YES YES YES! It’s important to get your lashes wet and wash them! We often hear “I was told I can’t get my lashes wet at all”. This is an old lashing myth. The science of lash adhesive formula has changed so much over the years and now you can get your lashes wet as soon as 3 minutes after your lash appointment!
-
Do I need to wash my lashes?AGAIN YES! Our natural lashes are meant to keep dirt, dust, lint and other debris from reaching our actual eye tissue; this means that all this ends up in our eye lashes. It’s important to use an eyelash extension safe shampoo and wash your lashes every day to remove all dirt, dust, lint, make up and natural oils.
-
Can I wear eye makeup with lash extensions?Yes, you can – as long as it’s oil-free or very low in glycol/glycerin (oil). These ingredients break down the adhesive bond causing the extensions to fall off faster. Please do not use mascara at all while having lash extensions. We know that sometimes in between fills you feel you need mascara but try brushing your extensions to fill in the spaces or contact us to come in sooner.
-
Can you be allergic to eyelash extension adhesive?Like all cosmetic products, there are some individuals who may be allergic to lash adhesive. If you have lash extensions applied and any side effects such as swelling, red, puffy eyelids and under eye area, we suggest getting them removed and we cannot ethically apply any lashes in the future. Once you’ve had one allergic reaction it’s highly likely it will happen again and subsequent reactions can be worse.
-
Do you use mink lashes? No, we do not use any animal products. When someone says they get mink lashes or silk lashes, this means they get lash extensions that are man-made fibres, designed to imitate the appearance of mink or silk.
-
What are lash fills and why do I need them?Lash fills are appointments booked after your first full set if you want to keep up with them and they are booked every 2 to 3 weeks. The reason for needing a lash fill every 2 to 3 weeks is because some of your natural lashes will have reached the end of their life cycle and shed but don’t worry a new lash is there and waiting to be filled! We recommend coming for a fill when 40-50% of the extensions have fallen off.
-
Why are my lash extensions not lasting?Sometimes we don’t realize we are using products with oils in them; also listed as glycol or glycerin. This will cause the lash adhesive to break down and cause lash extensions to shed. If you are unsure if products you use have oil, bring them to your appointment or send a picture to your lash stylist and they can help you out. Other reasons can be hormonal changes and certain medications (thyroid & accutane). If you are experiencing any issues within the first 3 days after your appointment, please contact us and we will set you up with a complementary lash guarantee touch up.
-
What is a lash guarantee? At OASIS Beauty Bar, we stand behind our work and products. Before 3 days if more than 30% of your lashes have fallen out, we will do a complementary touch up.
-
My lash extensions are falling out with my natural lash attached. Is this normal? This is completely normal. Some people don’t actually realize this, but every day, we lose anywhere from 1-5 natural lashes – much like the hair on our head. This is all part of the lash cycle, when one falls out a new one is already growing in its place! Usually twice a year (spring & fall) you will notice that you lose more natural lashes, this is called a seasonal shed. Don’t be too concerned – it happens to everyone. If you are worried, get in touch or talk to your lash stylist who can assess the health of your lashes at any point.
